1. There many trends associated with economic inequality. One trend that occurs, as the gap between the rich and poor increases, is a more competitive society. Citizens in states with high economic inequality tend not to be as cooperative as other states with more equal wealth distribution. In economics cooperative trading and comparative advantage is key economic prosperity and the continual growth of GDP. The more selfish and competitive people become, the less likely they will trade, which will lead to a less beneficial outcome for both parties. Another trend associated with economic inequality is less involvement in a community. People have to look out for there own well- being before trying to help out other people. One solution that is used to solve this is progressive taxes.
